Denomination

Overbrook Presbyterian Church is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA), a mainline Protestant denomination of approximately 2.1 million members and more than 10,000 congregations.

Through our denomination, we are connected in mission and ministry to other Presbyterians here in Philadelphia and around the world. For more information on the Presbyterian bodies of which we are a part, see:

  • Presbytery of Philadelphia
  • Synod of the Trinity
  • Presbyterian Church (USA)

For many years, Overbrook has also been supportive of the Covenant Network and More Light Presbyterians. These are two national, broad-based groups within our denomination that are striving to make the Presbyterian Church (USA) more fully inclusive, so that all people—regardless of sexual orientation—may freely participate and freely serve.
