The Sunday Coffee Hour

Activity Organize refreshments for period following the Sunday morning service. Prepare or purchase food (paid for from church budget), recruit helpers to set up tables and serve.
When? Set up prior to the worship service; service and clean up afterwards
Talent? Shopping, baking, organizational skills

Homeless Shelter Meals

Activity We plan, organize, cook and serve dinner to approximately 150 homeless men and women. All food and supplies are paid for by the Mission and Outreach Committee budget
When? Every fifth Tuesday at the shelter at 63rd and Market Streets
Cooking: Food needs to be at the church by early afternoon on the day of the meal

Serving: from about 6:15 PM to 8 PM
Talent? Shopping, cooking, baking, serving, coordinating - all are needed

Aid for Friends

Activity Aid for Friends is a citywide outreach by churches and synagogues to feed and give companionship to the homebound: the elderly, the disabled and the chronically ill. Participation can involve cooking, often by setting aside and freezing a portion of your family meal, or delivering seven meals weekly to a homebound person and visiting with them on a regular basis
When? Cooking: As you are able to do so
Delivering and Visiting: Weekly by arrangement, about 1-2 hours a week
Talent? Cooks and people who can deliver meals are both needed

The Hunger Store

Activity Supply and staff a table offering nonperishable food items for purchase for donation to a community food cupboard
When? Third Sunday of each month; set up before the morning worship service, staff the table during the coffee hour
Talent? Shopping; accepting cash donations for food
