What is Apportionment?

Each year, the Presbytery of Philadelphia asks churches in the Presbytery to contribute a specific sum for each communicant member. The amount per member is modest, between $15 and $20 a year. Apportionment monies are used by the Presbytery for operating expenses and mission projects.

What is a Communicant Member?

A communicant member is someone who has been received into the membership of Overbrook Presbyterian Church, including children who have become members by confirmation. Young children who have not yet been confirmed are not considered communicant members and are not subject to apportionment.

Why Should I Pay?

Overbrook has no membership dues, and there is no requirement for members to make this apportionment payment. However, the Session asks members to make a special gift to reimburse Overbrook for their apportionment cost and, if possible, to consider adding an "angel apportionment" for those who are unable to make this gift.
