It is the duty of the Deacons, first of all, to minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress within the community of faith.
- Visiting with homebound and hospitalized members and friends
- Delivering flowers from Sunday worship and special events
- Organizing transportation to worship services
- Fostering community through social events
- Providing emotional support to those in crisis
- Providing emergency financial assistance
- Shepherding the congregation by helping to integrate new members and support existing members
- Witnessing God's revealed preference for the poor and Jesus' command to love one another
- Delivering a meal in special situations, upon request
- Acknowledging special milestones, celebrations or concerns with cards or flowers
